Missing Numbers in Equations

Explore
Cade is solving a number sentence.
  1. For  ___ + 4 = 20 to be true, each side of the number sentence must be equal.
  2. Find the missing number ___ + 4 = 20
  3. Build the problem and notice the size of the missing number. (Is it large or a small number?)
  4. Use color cubes to find the missing number.
  5. How many cubes did you need to make both sides equal?
Hint: For a number sentence to be true both sides need to be equal.

Marvin is carefully counting.
Tayen was a great example!
